What it took to design my latest stainless Steel and fused glass sculpture…
- When I have a specific idea in mind for a piece of art I do some very basic sketches that will be a way to transform my idea into a visual representation of my art.
- I like to specialize in creating custom artwork in fused glass and metal with a specific idea that I have.
- I look for my complete satisfaction in my artwork by using the highest quality craftsmanship and material to develop custom designs in each piece.
- I like to work with very strong color combinations in mind, recyclable material etc.
- I am tempted to jump right in and start designing my artwork but it is important to collect the necessary information first to complete each piece.
- I’m always asking what are the dimensions, and the exact colors I want to include and any other elements that would be important for each design.
- I take the time to find inspiration and research similar designs and brainstorm freely. To find inspiration I like to Read Books, visit museums, unwind my mind, do different things and do a lot of research before I start to create each piece.
Christian Louboutin
That brings me to my inspiration for this piece which was Christian Louboutin and his signature red sole shoes.
Christian Louboutin began sketching shoes in his early teens and not spending much time in his academic studies.
Christian Louboutin designed women’s shoes for Chanel Yves Saint Laurent and Maud Frizon in the late 1980s.
Christian Louboutin helped bring stilettos back into fashion in the 1990s and 2000s, designing dozens of styles with heel heights of over 4.5″ and higher. The designer’s professed goal has been to “make a woman look sexy, beautiful, to make her legs look as long as he can”.[
